Take a trip behind the scene of the World 2020 SIX Wayfinder

In 2020, we devised a metaphorical symphony — four movements that helpped us grasp meaning and shape action together in urgent times.

We turned into the social innovation happening now.

We tuned in to how we are renewing our relationships with each other and the earth.

First Movement — Tuning

What are we hearing that moves us?

In this movement, we listened to local activity around the world. This Movement is in diminuendo.

Second Movement — Ensembling

What are we learning across different contexts giving rise to desired futures?

In this movement, we began ensembling globally — trying out different sounds, instruments, methods, approaches and arrangements to play together.

Third Movement — Playing

What does it take for emerging possibilities to sustain?

In this movement, we began playing together — as quartets or symphonies or bands. We played with the people at the scale that fits our next actions. We practised some of the compositions from the second movement. We improvised together. We brought the music to life.

Fourth Movement — moments of magic

What have we achieved? What is our next best step?

In the final movement, we experienced the music we are creating — the magic of the moment. We played broadly to more audiences and heard more ensembles coming together in a crescendo of sound.
